When work says they have to meet a charity target and ideas get thrown around to the point where you say, "yeah, I could cut my hair off, I'd have to set a personal target to reach or I wont do it. Like £200." Then everyone starts saying how much of a good idea it is, and that it is then too late to back out!
As you can see in these photos on the left and right, my hair was just below my waist. At 5ft5 it's still pretty long in comparison! My hair was naturally over 22 inches long in total. It was beautiful, long and soft even if it was bleached from red 18 months prior and went through intense bleaching every month or 2 on my roots.
During the weeks leading up to the day of the chop, there were so many mixed emotions about doing it. There was mainly excitement about doing something good, and then about 4-6 days before the actual chop, I did NOT want to cut it at all! But it was a promise I made to all my team at work!
That's 3 plats of my hair all cut off!
Because they were at different parts of my head they are different lengths, but the longest of the 3 was 13 inches long!
I raised £250 for cutting my hair to be donated to Bloodwise from Wickes, not bad since it was just staff from my store and a few visiting managers. I am also donating these plats to The Little Princess Trust who make wigs for children that have lost their hair through cancer.
While I feel like I did a wonderful thing, I still miss my long blonde hair. On the plus side, having short hair gives me more freedom to go crazy with colours etc.

See what I mean?? Bright orange is such an awesome colour, but one that is very difficult to maintain! and by that I mean it washes out almost straight away no matter what brand you use!!! Now blue on the other hand... That stuff wont come out.
